History and Origins
Nara Prefecture has been eaten as one of New Year's usual food. The color of red white with a white root and red carrots means water drag and is a wish of peace. By adding the pepper in "I'm so happy," it will add the sweetness, flavor and taste to the vinegar taste.
When It Is Eaten
Many of them are eaten on New Year's Eve, but Nara's is a special product, called the "silver." I often use dried rice, but I also enjoy the raw rice. It has always been passed on as a dish for New Year's.
How It Is Eaten
It's a simple dish with radishes, carrots, and dried rice, but sometimes it's made into a piece of rice. In times when sugar was expensive, dried rice is used instead of sugar, for cooking and so on, and it's made more delicious by having a sour, red-white pepper.
Recipe — Serves 4
Ingredients
- 240 g daikon radish
- 28 g carrot
- 40 g dried persimmons
- Vinegar: 2 tbsp vinegar
- Vinegar: 1–2 tsp sugar
- Vinegar: 1 tsp salt
Method
- Mix vinegar, sugar, salt well, and make vinegar.
- The carrots are peeled and cut, salt is shaken, and salt is mixed well, and stay for a while.
- When it does, I'll wash it quickly with running water.
- Dried rice is not good, harvest seeds, and slice them into pieces.
- Mix the vinegar with a few, mix it well, and place it on the bowl.
- Sometimes I put the skin of the mustard in a slice.
